Starting in 1999 Brandon Webster began providing Lighting designs and stage managment services to the touring and theatrical industry. After being approached by Len Paul (Soma San Diego) in late 2002 regarding a collaberation of efforts to produce a full scale concert venue catering to the youth market in San Diego his career path changed dramaticly. Public acclaim was first realized with the production of "Switchfoot Live in San Diego" by Encintias California crossover rock bands first full length video perfomance was released under his lighting direction. Throat Lumps

The problem of discoloured lumps towards the rear of ones throat is commonly known as Throat Lumps, or the medical term "swollen asophy" The most common symptons of the disease are a small black lump inside the mouth towards the throat, with others involving sore muscles, losing the ability to swallow without experencing pain and in severe cases moodswings and abnormal behaviour. The latter symptons are encountered towards the eye (most extreme) stage of the illness, due to the swelling impacting upon a vital nerve that connects directly to the temporal lobe of the left side of the brain. Once the disease has reached this stage it is impossible to tell it apart from a simple viral infection, the biological blood markers are identical to the common cold, as well as most other minor viral illnesses. From this stage the disease gets progessively worse as it begins to eat away at the bodys respitory system causing coughing and flem build up. Over the last 200 years there have been hundreds of cases of "swollen asophy" reported with only 15% of cases proving fatal. Treatment includes large amounts of penicillin and supplemented with an anti-oxidant like green tea you would be well on your way to recovery. The condition is caused by excessive amounts of oral sex and foreign chemicals in the body (i.e drugs, alcohol, semen). Anybody who contracts this disease should consult a doctor immediately. She auditioned and got accepted into a specialized class in her elementary school dedicated to musically talented children. At school she studied musical theater starting from the age of 9. Outside the school she was competing in Rhytmics Gymnastics in a team with 7 other girls of her age. They competed and performed in several national and international events and competitions. She loved theater but Gymnastivs Rhytmics was her passion. While she spent years of training and competing in Gymnastics, she also completed a teacher's certificate to start teaching Gymnastics Rhytmics for children under the age of 7 and started working with them for couple of years. At the age of 16, she auditioned and got accepted into a professional dance group in Finland called the Step Up Dancers which led her into modeling. Her first professional pictures were taken at that time. After spending time in Paris and Milan she finally moved to New York to study acting at the William Esper Studio and started concentrating on her acting career. Today she has appeared in numerous TV commercials, including a billboard in Time Square for Emerson Electronics, as well as in several independent films and TV parts. Sources Dunnabeck is a summer camp at the Kildonan School in Amenia, New York. Dunnabeck was founded in 1955 by Diana King, the author of many books on the subject of teaching dyslexics. Dyslexic kids go to Dunnabeck to improve their language arts skills. They include reading, writing, and spelling. This six week camp incorporates learning with fun. Kids come from all over the world to Dunnabeck just to improve their language skills. They are not the only ones who come from all over the world. Counselors come here from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Central and South America through a program called Camp America. This is because of Diana King’s desire to attempt to give kids a broader understanding of the cultures of the rest of the world. For tutoring kids are placed in one-on-one classes with a tutor. The tutors are trained in a highly affective teaching method called Orton Gillingham. It uses handwriting, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and reading to help the kids. Each tutoring sessions last one hour and is followed by a study period to practice what was learned in the tutoring period. Once a week they use their cursive handwriting skills to write a letter home. Kids access to e-mail on McIntosh computers and can write letters and make phone calls home weekly. Dunnabeck is a typical summer camp, so when the kids are not doing their one-on-one tutoring, they do various activities and take trips. At camp, there are activities like; archery, horseback riding, tennis, dance, martial arts, ceramics, photography, slikscreening, multi-media, mountain biking, and woodworking. Trips include; visits to water and theme parks, camping, local attractions, sporting events, concerts, movies, and local fairs. The kids are never bored there. Dunnabeck is a great learning experience for boys and girls ages 8 to 16. Students can choose to board full-time, they can attend part-time. The Beagle Board is a Single-board computer product produced by Texas Instruments in association with Digi-Key designed with open source developement in mind, and to demonstrate Texas Instrument's OMAP3530 chipset. The low power and small size make it suitable for some embedded applications, whilst the chipset has sufficient power to run a full windowed operating system supporting web-browsing etc. The board was developed by a small team of TI engineers. Vietnam Veteran Antiwar Activist/Writer Michael Uhl, Vietnam veteran antiwar activist, critic and independent scholar, born April 14, 1944, grew up in Babylon, Long Island, New York. He graduated with a BS in Theoretical Linguists from the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, Georgetown University. He spent his undergraduate junior year at the Pontificia Universidade Catolica, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He holds an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in American Studies and Writing (Creative Non-fiction) from the Union Institute and University. In the Army, Uhl received training at the Infantry Officers School, Ft. Benning, GA and the elite Counter Intelligence School, Ft. Holabird, MD. He served in Vietnam during 1968-69 as a first lieutenant, where he led a combat intelligence team with the 11th Infantry Bde. After Vietnam, Uhl entered a doctoral program in linguistics at New York University, and became immediately involved in the antiwar movement, joining the New York City based Citizens Commission of Inquiry on U.S. War Crimes in Vietnam (CCI) as a full time organizer. He helped organize the National Veteran Inquiry and the Winter Soldier Investigation. In 1970, Uhl testified at the International Enquiry on US War Crimes in Stockholm, Sweden, and in 1971, he was called to testify before a US Congressional subcommittee investigating the CIA’s Phoenix assassination program in Vietnam. Also in 1971 he toured Australia and New Zealand as a representative of the US anti-Vietnam War movement. That same year he co-founded The Safe Return Amnesty Committee advocating for a universal amnesty on behalf of Vietnam era military deserters. Safe Return was a predecessor of Citizen Soldier, which he also co-founded, and, until 1981, served as co-director, working on a wide range of campaigns advocating for GI and veteran rights. He co-authored the first book length treatment on the health effects of chemical herbicides (Agent Orange) on U.S. veterans of the Vietnam War. He is a Charter Member of [Veterans For Peace http://vfpmaine.org/] founded in Maine, where he moved with his family in the mid-1980s. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of [Veterans For Peace http://veteransforpeace.org/], and is editor of the organization’s national newsletter. Charite-Total replacement surgery

They wake up aching and go to sleep feeling discomfort. Luckily, medicine is improving and growing every day. Doctors are discovering new ways to reduce pain and better a person’s body and lifestyle. Surgeries are available to replace joints all over the body. The most common joint replacement surgeries are for the knees and hips. Surgeons can also use fusion to remove the joints and replace them with either metal or plastic joints. This lowers pain levels, but also restricts movement. Back pain is also one of the many discomforts people go through every day. Spinal fusion is the usual treatment for people with lumbar degenerative disc disease, but just like the fusion surgeries used for knees and hips, this surgery restricts the patient’s movements. Charité, an artificial disc developed at the Charité University Hospital in the mid 1980’s, is one of the new surgeries used to ease back and spinal pain. They replace the spinal discs with an exact replica of an actual disc. This new type of surgery is dangerous yet successful, allowing the patient full recovery with better movement and no pain. This type of surgery is ground breaking; it can cure pain, improve movement, and is easier to recover from. Total replacement surgery, Charité, is better than fusion surgeries because it increases movement and lessens pain. The Charité Artificial Disc was created by Professor Karin Buttner-Janz and Professor Kurt Schellnack in Berlin, Germany. The disc was created sometime in the 1980s and was FDA approved in October of 2004. At first this surgery was only available in a limited amount of countries. In March of 2000, the United States did its first implantation of the disc. They performed several studies at the Texas Back Institute and implanted a total of 267 discs before approving the new surgery. Since then few Americans have had the opportunity to experience this surgery due to high expense. One problem with this surgery is few insurance companies are willing to cover the cost. As of October of 2005, only 110 insurance companies covered this surgery. During an interview, Dr. Lee Nelson stated there are ways to get around this obstacle. Your doctor must prove that you have DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) at a single level between L4 and S1. You also may make appeals and get authorization from your doctor that can help influence your insurance company. There are people who at this time will not qualify for this surgery; people with osteoporosis, osteopenia, bony lumbar stenosis, and pars defect. Almost all insurance companies cover fusion surgeries. Fusion surgery is one of the accepted standards to improve or eliminate joint pain. Patients can get almost any joint fused. The two most popular of these surgeries are for hips and knees. During the surgery for a knee, the surgeon cuts off the ends of both the femur and the tibia and fuses them together creating one long bone. Of course pins, plates, and screws are used to hold the bones in place and together. Knee fusion is only used when total knee replacement fails. This surgery also obviously restricts the knee’s flexibility, but provides the patient with the ability to bear more weight on his or her knees. During a hip fusion, the surgeon fuses both the pelvic bone and the femur together. This eliminates all movement of the hip. A big problem with this surgery is that patients will eventually have to have another surgery to replace the hip. This surgery is more a temporary fix until it is necessary to have a hip replacement. One type of fusion surgery is spinal; it can reduce back pain but limits a patient. This surgery is used to stop pain on degenerative joints. Surgeons take two bones that would normally be separated by a joint and fuse them together, allowing one bone to form, this is called arthrodesis. Spinal fusion has been used for the past forty years and continually advances. During this surgery bone graft is used to join two or more vertebrae together, when the patient has healed they have one solid piece of bone in their back. Bone graft can be taken off of bones in other joints such as the hip, which then may cause future problems. One recent advance in fusion surgery is Healos. This is a bone graft replacement technology that prevents further surgeries. Many bone graft replacements are taken from licensed tissue banks or they used manufactured synthetic material that copies an actual human bone. There are two types of spinal fusion. Posterolateral fusion places bone graft between the transverse processes in the back of the spine. The vertebrae are then fixed in place with screws and wired to a metal rod placed on each side of the spine. Interbody fusion places the bone graft between the vertebrae. During this surgery the disc is removed entirely. This disc is then replaced by a device to maintain spine alignment and height. The intervertebral device is made out of either plastic or titanium and the fusion occurs at the endplates. One other big difference between spinal fusion and Charité is during surgery patients who get spinal fusion lay on their stomachs causing water to rush to their face and causing discomfort after surgery. Mattew Tata was born in Boston, Massachusetts, but grew up in northern New York State. He completed a B.Sc. in Environmental Systems Technology at Cornell University. Matt then completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees at University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia. There Matthew worked with Dr.Debbie Giaschi, and his Ph.D. supervisor, Dr. Lawrence Ward. During his studies at UBC, Matthew focused on auditory and visual perception, as well as the neuroscience of attention. Matt came to the University of Lethbridge as a post-doctoral fellow where he worked with Dr. Robert Sutherland. However, Matt soon became faculty, and is currently an assistant professor at the University of Lethbridge.
